John Ritter

Memorial Page
As a husband and father, John brought happiness to the lives of his loved ones. Amy Yasbeck was lucky enough to snag him in 1999 and marry him after countless times of starring on screen together both in film & television. To Carly, Stella, Tyler, & Jason he was 'daddy'. To his fans, he was
'Jack Tripper' and to us "IT" fans he was the older 'Ben Hanscom'. He brought a lot of hilarious moments, and sad ones, too.
[How John would like to be remembered]: "Just as a guy who was interested in the golden thread that intertwines all of us together. You know, that golden thread that goes through me and you, and the cameraman, and all the people out there and back through Nancy. That's what an artist can do, that someone - anyone - could do, if they're willing to pluck that. And either it makes you laugh or it makes you cry, it's that golden thread of humanity, and I'd like to be remembered as maybe a guy who plucked a few of those."
* I really wish I could have had the chance to meet and work with John. * After watching "IT" with the commentaries, and listening to his hilarious memories of the filming of "IT" as well as other little jokes and anecdotes, I felt a sort of calm knowledge of the man who John Ritter actually seemed to be. As pretensious as it sounds, I really felt like I got to know him. I really *am* saddened by his loss after all this time...
Survived by older brother Tom, his mother Dorothy Fay died not long after his unexpected passing. Nancy, his first wife, was still one of his friends at the time as well. He will be sorely missed not only by his family and close friends, but by his fans as well.
♥ To him, I dedicate this memorial page.♥
Rest In Peace, Jonathan Southworth Ritter.

Hear John as the older "Ben" in It:
"Something like that, just sayin' hi to... some old ghost, y'know."
"Richie, for the number of times you broke those glasses of yours, you should have had stock in an adhesive tape company."
"Hang tough, champ. You're gonna make it."
"Why'd you say that?!"
"My... heart burns there... too."
"Congratulations, that's a miracle."
